Smaoineamh is an elegantly designed study desk finished in Danish oil. Its free form shape wraps around the person at work. This minimalist desk allows the lines and contours to merge together creating a very relaxing environment. The construction of the desk is based on a large finger joint along the back curve, connecting the leg to the top. This exposed joint will create a contrasting feature from the grain in the wood itself. The inspiration was derived from natures free flowing shapes. The intriguing shapes created by the sea such as the swirling patterns in driftwood to the symmetrical curved sea shells.
